Choose the right DJI Terra license for your work. Compare Standard and Flagship, understand online and offline deployment, and plan your license term, workstation and activation before you buy.
Already know your required edition? Open the relevant product to review the license, current price and purchase details. If you are still choosing, use the explanations below or read our DJI Terra Standard vs Flagship comparison.
Start with Standard when your required deliverables use the shared mapping, 3D mesh and multispectral reconstruction tools. Check sensor-specific LiDAR conditions separately.
Compare a DJI Terra Standard Permanent license for ongoing use with a 1-year entitlement for a defined period. Choose the offline product if the processing computer must remain disconnected.
Compare Flagship when the brief requires photo-based Gaussian Splatting or the Electricity Application. A LiDAR sensor or a larger dataset alone does not establish a need for Flagship.
Review a DJI Terra Flagship Permanent license for recurring work or Flagship 1 Year for a fixed term. Permanent duration and offline authorization are separate choices.
Where can I check the DJI Terra license price? Follow the product links for current prices and applicable tax information. An annual price and a permanent price cover different license terms; compare the same edition and authorization mode. Our DJI Terra license catalog also includes expressly identified Terra + Modify bundles.
For multiple licenses, an edition upgrade or a company quotation, send Drone Emotions your product names, quantities and deployment requirements. Identify any existing entitlement before assuming that an upgrade or a transfer is included.
Separate the software edition, the license term and the authorization mode. They answer different questions and should all appear clearly in your quotation.
Write down what you need to deliver: an orthomosaic, a surface model, a 3D mesh, an edited point cloud or a photorealistic scene. The output list is the starting point for choosing an edition.
Identify the processing computer, its internet access and the people who manage it. A connected office workstation and an isolated processing system need different deployment planning.
Decide whether this is a temporary project, a continuing service or a wider reconstruction and editing workflow. Then check the exact product designation, term and included software.
The key question is which tools your project needs. Compare the same software release and input-data workflow when evaluating the editions.
A practical starting point for general mapping and reconstruction. DJI describes Standard as covering routine surveying, 3D reconstruction and LiDAR workflows.
List your required deliverables first, then use the comparison below to check the feature access you need.
Consider Flagship when your work requires Gaussian Splatting from photographs, power-line reconstruction or detailed inspection tools. It extends the Standard feature set.
Choose it for a required capability or a planned service, with a representative dataset to evaluate the result.
| Your required workflow | Standard | Flagship |
|---|---|---|
| General 2D mapping | Available | Available |
| 3D meshes from photographs | Available | Available |
| Ground control and survey tools | Available | Available |
| Multispectral and thermal reconstruction | Available | Available |
| Gaussian Splatting from photographs | Not included | Available |
| Power-line reconstruction and detailed inspection | Not included | Available |
| Cluster processing | See Terra 5.1 guidance below | See Terra 5.1 guidance below |
On smaller screens, scroll the table sideways. Sensor compatibility and release requirements still apply to each workflow.

For examples of how to choose between these editions, read our Standard vs Flagship article.
A license term is a commercial planning decision. Compare the same edition, deployment mode and included products when evaluating options.
For a practical cost comparison, read our DJI Terra pricing: annual vs permanent license guide. Compare the same edition and authorization mode over your expected period of use, then check the current product prices.
A fixed-term entitlement provides the licensed access for its stated period. Confirm the start date, expiry date and renewal conditions for the product you order.
For a defined contract, compare the cost of the required term with your project duration. Allow time for reprocessing and delivery changes after the first reconstruction is complete.
If your work continues beyond the term, plan the next entitlement before the current access expires.
A perpetual entitlement provides ongoing use of its licensed edition under the applicable terms. Its duration and its included features are separate parts of the purchase.
For recurring mapping work, compare the purchase with your expected years of use, workstation plans and software requirements. A permanent Standard entitlement remains a Standard entitlement unless an eligible edition upgrade is applied.
Keep the order details and activation records with your software inventory.
Read the exact listing before choosing a term. DJI’s current Enterprise FAQ describes Standard and Flagship as perpetual, while our catalog also contains 1-year listings. Confirm the currently supplied SKU and its validity before ordering a time-limited product. The named product and confirmed quotation determine what you are purchasing.

Choose the authorization mode for the computer that will actually reconstruct your data. Include the IT team when internet access or hardware changes are controlled.
The processing computer needs an internet connection for paid-feature permission checks. Activation is associated with a DJI account and the license is bound to the computer.
Plan for: reliable connectivity, access to the selected account and permission for the required DJI services on your company network.
For a computer that travels between sites, check how it will stay connected during processing.
An offline entitlement allows the bound processing computer to use its paid functions without going online. The initial license exchange can use a separate connected computer.
Plan for: a stable workstation configuration, the license-file exchange and a secure method of moving the files to the processing computer.
Include deployment assistance in your purchasing discussion when the workstation is isolated.
Plan hardware changes before an offline exchange. DJI warns against changing the motherboard, CPU or hard drive after creating the request file. Discuss a replacement or hardware upgrade before making the change.
DJI reference: Activation and Binding.
Read our online and offline licensing guide for more deployment questions.
Include your device arrangement in the quotation. Tell us how many processing computers you have and which ones need to be usable at the same time.
Use an account your organization can manage over time. Record who controls it, who handles the activation records and how the team will recover access if the responsible employee changes.
In DJI Terra, open User Center > Manage Licenses to check the license name, validity and binding status.
The current DJI edition overview lists one bound device for Standard and Flagship. Other entitlements, including educational or older products, can have different device arrangements.
Confirm the specific entitlement before planning a desktop, a laptop or several users. The number of installations alone does not establish permission to use the paid tools on each computer.
Plan transfers rather than treating the license as freely interchangeable. DJI’s current User Center guidance allows one unbinding per calendar year for a one-device license, and two for licenses bound to three or more devices. An unbinding clears all devices under that license. Trial licenses cannot be unbound.
DJI reference: User Center and license management.
Activation establishes the entitlement and binding associates it with the intended computer. Complete the documented procedure for your authorization mode.
For installers and documentation, visit our Download page. Keep your original request, license files and order records together.
Separate your entitlement, the installed software version and any additional software included in a bundle. Keep all three clear in your purchasing records.
Terra 5.x changed the update policy. DJI’s current FAQ states that version 5.0.0 and later do not require upgrade or maintenance fees, and that paid users can move to version 5.0.0 without that fee.
A version update and an edition upgrade answer different needs. Check the new release for compatibility and improvements; check the entitlement when you need a feature belonging to another edition.
Before changing a production installation, preserve your data and test a representative project.
Keep the original license designation when asking about an older entitlement. Historical update terms and new-release policies may appear together in DJI documentation.
Send the edition, authorization mode, activation details and installed version so that the correct migration or upgrade route can be assessed.
Already hold a Pro entitlement? Our DJI Terra Pro guide to legacy licenses and current editions explains what to check before updating, renewing or choosing a new license.

Use official release notes and downloads to review the version you intend to install. For an edition upgrade, request confirmation of eligibility and the resulting entitlement before purchasing.
Use our DJI Terra Versions & Release Notes Guide to find official earlier versions, understand release changes and prepare your workstation and project records before updating.
The guide also explains how to use historical PDFs in their original context. For changes to your licensed edition or authorization mode, confirm the resulting entitlement before purchasing.
Start with the exact project type. A complimentary processing entitlement, an educational arrangement or a separate editing product can change what needs to be purchased.
DJI’s current LiDAR manual states that Zenmuse L2 and L3 point-cloud reconstruction projects can be processed without a Terra software license.
If this is your only requirement, verify the exact data and outputs before buying an edition solely for LiDAR. Separate this workflow from reconstruction using independent photograph datasets.
DJI announced visible-light cluster access for Standard and Flagship users with Terra 5.1 at no additional cost. Its announcement also describes free Zenmuse L3 point-cloud cluster processing.
Plan the network, shared storage and supported reconstruction type. Existing Cluster Edition users need to review the worker reconfiguration required after the upgrade.
Terra creates reconstruction results; Modify provides a further editing stage for meshes and point clouds. Consider the combined workflow when cleaning and preparing the deliverables is part of your service.
Read both product names in a bundle. Modify Flagship describes the Modify edition; it does not change Terra Standard into Terra Flagship.
Agriculture focuses on agricultural applications. The Education edition provides Flagship-level capabilities with task-size restrictions: up to 500 photographs or 8 GB of raw point-cloud data per task.
For teaching, explain the class size, workstations and dataset requirements when requesting eligibility and license details.
These are starting points for evaluation. A useful recommendation combines your required outputs, representative data, license conditions and deployment needs.
Start your evaluation with Standard and a dataset similar to your client work. Check the outputs, coordinate system, quality report and downstream import. Include the expected project size and processing workstation in your request.
For Gaussian Splatting from photographs, evaluate Flagship with representative scenes. Discuss how clients will view the result, what other outputs you must deliver and whether a conventional mesh is also required.
Define the final computer and your file-transfer process before selecting offline deployment. Include hardware replacement plans and the responsible IT contact in the purchasing discussion.
Compare a Terra-only purchase with a Terra and Modify bundle. List reconstruction tasks separately from cleaning, editing and delivery tasks, then verify the edition of each included product.
Use the guide to prepare your decision, then review the exact product and confirmed terms before ordering. This page keeps prices in the live catalog.
Follow the product links for current prices and purchase details. Prices, availability and the final order total are shown in the store. For an upgrade, specialized entitlement or multi-license requirement, request a quotation.
A clear requirement list helps avoid purchasing an unsuitable edition or preparing the wrong computer for activation.
Plan a small, useful test rather than relying only on a software demonstration. Check the evaluation entitlement before preparing a large dataset.
To understand which workflows to evaluate before purchasing, read Is DJI Terra free? Free features, trial access and paid licenses. The article explains the distinction between a trial and sensor-specific LiDAR processing conditions.
DJI describes a one-month online trial with limits of 500 photographs or 8 GB of raw point-cloud data per task. It binds to one computer, cannot be unbound and requires the latest Terra version. Activate the code within three days of receiving it.
Trials supplied with aircraft or payloads may carry different terms. Read the entitlement provided with your equipment.
Keep notes so that your purchasing decision reflects the workflow you actually intend to run.
